Tea party

My first rally! It was fantastic. I am inspired. I am proud.

Today was my very first political rally and it might have changed me. I think the first thing that i discovered is that I am not the last free standing Republican, free market, Constitution waving American in this land. Sure I know of some politicians that run on a Republican platform but today I saw some of them walk the walk and talk (shout) the talk. These people were...dare I say...more Republican than I am.

I am a free market kind of woman. I like the private industry, and the good old fashioned work for everything you can mentality. I WANT to work hard for every dime I earn, it makes me feel like a better human.

Today's events inspired me to do more and get involved with grass roots efforts to elect the kind of people that I want in office. Heck, maybe someday I will run for office, God knows my heart is in it.

Now I have to run to the bank and make a deposit...so I can cover my TAX bill,

Drinking the Kool aid

Onmy recent visit to Washington DC i was warned about drinking the Kool aid. While I didnt find the city to have chaned since President Bush was in office, I did notice more talk on street about the "rock star" qualities of President Obama and the impending change that was afloat. During these discussions with taxi drivers, locals and shop owners, I found myself slowly deciding that there is some amount of change that needs to happen.

So, here is what I said, outloud: I am fine with a government run system, as long as agents remain a vital part of the system.

Yep....me, the mother of all free market systems may have been won over by the sweeping change. I'm still not sure how we are going to pay for it, where doctor;s will find the extra time to see all of us and how the hospitals will expand to find bed's for us all.

I'm reminded of a story....when you go to a buffet and there is steak, chicken, shrimp and lobster. Most people get the most expensive thing (and lots of it) cause they all paid one price. Who wants to eat chicken when you can have lobster? Who is going to skip dessert and extra bread? No one. The same thing translated into medical care. If everyone is playing for it...we are all going to start using it. No more home remedies, herbs, and living with something. We are all going to rushing to the health care buffet.

I just made myself hungry,
