My first rally! It was fantastic. I am inspired. I am proud.
Today was my very first political rally and it might have changed me. I think the first thing that i discovered is that I am not the last free standing Republican, free market, Constitution waving American in this land. Sure I know of some politicians that run on a Republican platform but today I saw some of them walk the walk and talk (shout) the talk. These people were...dare I say...more Republican than I am.
I am a free market kind of woman. I like the private industry, and the good old fashioned work for everything you can mentality. I WANT to work hard for every dime I earn, it makes me feel like a better human.
Today's events inspired me to do more and get involved with grass roots efforts to elect the kind of people that I want in office. Heck, maybe someday I will run for office, God knows my heart is in it.
Now I have to run to the bank and make a deposit...so I can cover my TAX bill,
Misty B.

Hi Misty!
I finally checked out your blog! Very cool!
I attended Tyler's Tea Party today and although I am sure it was smaller that Austin, the voices were loud and the people were many.
I too feel glad that other people like me(well, not exactly like me, thank goodness) exist and are out in full force.
As I looked around it was encouraging to see people of all ages and economic backgrounds. holding signs and waving flags.
When government starts getting bigger and takes away the rights of its people, blue collar stands next to white collar and one generation stands next to another generation in preservation of our Constitution given rights and freedoms.
My favorite sign was the first one I saw.
"A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it away."
(I think that’s a quote by Barry Goldwater)
