Aged....like a fine wine.

So, today is my 36th birthday. I still feel like I am 25, a little smarter-perhaps. While I feel like I have embraced some amazing opportunities in my life, I know there is change on the horizon. Not just change for me personally but also change for the nation.

Change isn’t bad. Well, not ALL change is bad.

But I have had the National Health Care debate at least 5 times in 4 days. My family, friends, heck, even one of my most entertaining bartenders debated with me over cards. It is a bit unnerving.

It has taught me a few things…first, people want “free” health care. Second, Doctor’s don’t care if the government pays the bill or if patients-but be certain—they are NOT taking a pay cut. Next, every part of the health care continuum will be touched by the government-nothing is safe.

ather than run around with a sky is falling mentality, I will work harder everyday for the things I believe in. I will remain vigilant with information gathering and share facts with people who care. I will let the people I voted for know what they will destroy with their vote. I will also try and listen to the problems of others and look for solutions. I know that we don’t have to trash the whole system in order for it to be better.

So, yes, I am another year older but also another year wiser,
Misty B.
