It won't happen to me.

We've all said it, "It won't happen to me!" but your probably wrong. A medical emergency, even a minor one will more than likely happen to you, or someone you are close to. But being prepared for those things is the key. You insurance coverage is important in those situations but a few other, practically common sense stuff will help you out too. If you are ever faced with a medical emergency, it is a good idea to have a few things on your person (at least in your purse).

First, make sure that you have a list of all of the medications that you take everyday. Dosage, and full name of the Rx is very helpful.

Next, a list of your doctor's. You need to have their name, address and phone number listed. You might remember them like family but if you need assistance in a hurry, someone else can find them for you.

You also want to keep a list of your family members that should be contacted. Again, you have it in your head (or your cell phone) but it needs to be on the same list as your doctor's.

Do you have a favorite local hospital? Add that to your written list too.

Your Medical ID cards should be pretty easy to find. Most people keep them in their wallet, but if you want to be extra careful, just make a copy (front and back) and put it with your other information.

This all seems like over planning but trust me, it can save lots of time, trouble and keep you out of danger if something unexpected happens.

Nothing wrong with a little planning,
