Remember my client, Kenny W? The guy that brought me flowers for looking at his claims?
Well, after I reviewed his stack of paperwork, I discovered that the hospital overcharged him....by $1,400!
Kenny and I made a phone call to the hospital (I had to leave a message and the call was never returned) and asked the hospital to look into the claim. After waiting 5 days for a return phone call, Kenny W called again and spoke to a live body. He was told that they would look into his request and get back to him in 10 days.
Well, 10 days came and went and finally, his phone rang. He was overcharged and he was due a refund. The hospital didn't exactly say that he was overcharged....they made a mistake in calculations.
I wonder what Kenny would have done had he not had an agent? I believe that his pocket would have remained $1,400 lighter.....and with the threat of recession in the US, Kenny can now go and spend money to stimulate the economy rather than over pay the hospital.
One last stab....do you think the hospital would ever catch that they were overpaid? BCBS paid them, Kenny paid them, too.....the hospital held on to Kenny's hard earned dollars for more than 30 days. There ought to be a law against that.
Saving Texans money left and right,
Misty B.
